Carbon Literacy Training

Being ‘Carbon Literate’ means having an awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis.

This one day training course involves learning about what exactly global warming is, how it has come about and the scientific proof that this is a serious issue confronting humanity and the rest of the planet. We go on to look at how our personal everyday habits  impact global warming, and what changes we can easily make on a personal level and in groups to reduce our ‘carbon footprint’. The course is delivered through a variety of activities including short presentations and films, small group discussions, and interactive games. At the end of the course you will be in an informed position to make some personal pledges  to reduce your carbon footprint in different aspects of your everyday life, and will be awarded a recognised certificate from the Carbon Literacy Trust (the CLT charge £10 for the certification, the Earthtime delivery of the course is currently free). Contact Earthtime’s Up Project if you would like to participate.

For more information visit carbonliteracy.com or drop into our High Street Hub.
