The Wood Workshop
To UP-skill people to be able to repair wooden furniture and other wooden household items, or upcycle used wood into something new, creative and useful, the UP Project runs regular classes in basic woodwork skills. These classes are usually in blocks of two or six two-hour weekly lessons and will teach you a range woodwork techniques using a variety of hand tools and power tools. At the end of a set of lessons you will have completed one or more wooden items to take home. Some of the courses we charge for but most of them are free.
The woodworking sessions are held in our fully equipped wood workshop at West Lodge in Cooper Park, Elgin (next to the library) and taught by our friendly and experienced wood workshop manager.
And we are also open to running woodwork sessions for specific small groups of people (up to six) on Mondays and Fridays - please get in touch if you'd like to arrange a woodwork session for your group or service users.
For more information or to book on a course please visit the UP events page or talk to one of our friendly staff in our High Street Hub. You can also book through our Facebook page or search Earthtime on Eventbrite.co.uk to book upcoming courses .
